Magnetic North Pole Expedition: Introduction

Magnetic North Pole Expedition: Introduction

The following journal chronicles my expedition to the magnetic north pole in April of 2014. Although I have been on a countless expedition over the last 30 years this expedition is special not only in the location but also in the participants. 2013 began my involvement with the True Patriot Love Foundation. This charity focuses on raising awareness around the challenges that our ill and wounded soldiers face when returning to civilian life and raises money for treatment and assistance in transitioning into civilian life.

Last year I was the civilian team leader on a trip that took ill and wounded Canadian soldiers and business leaders on a three-week expedition to Nepal. We trekked to Everest base camp and climbed Island Peak 6189m. This expedition was captured in a documentary called March to the Top for CBC.

In 2014 we embarked on a similar expedition, but this time to the magnetic North Pole. The interest was so great that we ultimately launched the largest ever expedition to the magnetic North Pole. Our fund raising goal is to raise money to bring a new Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment into Canada.

I hope you enjoy reading of my experience and if you are inspired by what we have accomplished please check out www.truepatriotlove.com to learn more.
