Summit Team Building

Mary Barry

Mary joined the Summit team in 2002 and quickly put her innate ability to present new ideas and perspectives in her new role as a lead facilitator. She also works hard behind the scenes connecting with clients to find out more about their team building/training goals and then exploring ways that our programs can effectively deliver on them.

With a background in HR that has focused largely on training and development, Mary is keenly aware of the impact that the well-being and happiness of “human capital” and employee engagement has on the bottom line of any organization.

Through her work as a corporate trainer, Mary has led team and leadership development events for groups in all areas of business. She has worked with small intact teams and large international teams from for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. She consistently shows her innate ability to connect and relate to people at all levels within an organization.

Mary facilitates programs with humour and style in a way that consistently engages groups as they learn about themselves. She is also a certified facilitator in Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI®) as well as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

Outside of her role at Summit, Mary thrives in her most important title – Mom. She is Evan and Andrew’s biggest fan and never misses an opportunity to cheer them on (sometimes to their embarrassment) at any challenge they take on. Mary and her husband Jim are particularly active at volunteer efforts in the Niagara rowing community which has led to many new friendships and a lot of fun.

Mary and her team helped to put everyone at ease. Her sense of humour and down to earth approach got everyone motivated to compete HARD and do a lot of laughing (at each other as well as themselves). All in all, just what we needed after a day full of meetings!
